
Albury Community Basketball Session
Elevate your game on and off the court!
Join us for our Resiliency Community Basketball Session Tuesday, 11th July 2023 at Lauren Jackson Sports Centre. Free open session for all coaches and young people aged 12 -19 years.
Led by experienced coaches and mentors, this session will focus not only on basketball skills but also on fostering resiliency among the participants. Through a series of activities, we aim to empower our youth with the tools and mindset to overcome challenges both on and off the court.
Community Basketball Session key activities:
1. Resiliency Skills Development
The 1.5 hour community programs include both on and off court activities including basketball skills & drills using
social emotional learning research related to the development of resiliency skills for young people. The program
focuses on the development of resiliency skills to provide a strong foundation for young people to successfully
transition through life.
2. Coach Intensive – Resiliency Development Opportunities
The programs will include transformational coach mentoring for local coaches prior to each session.
3. Athlete Role Model Participation, including recent and long time NBL player Kevin White and Daniel Grida.
The program includes program attendance by professional athletes with skills segments and Q&A sessions to
engage with participants across a range of topics. The programs provide young people with access to the professional players, along with prizes and access to equipment and gear.
