CAL BRUTON STANDS TALL IN REDFERN WITH TRIBAL WARRIOR
NBL Hall of Famer and Stand Tall Program Director Cal Bruton got his boxing gear on at Tribal Warriors Clean Slate Boxing program in Redfern followed by a Stand Tall program for the participants. Cal was up for the 6am boxing program and then after a quick breakfast launched into the Stand Tall basketball program.
The Stand Tall initiative consists of basketball and leadership programs for young people, with a focus on Indigenous and Culturally Diverse groups, including newly arrived refugees. The initiative aims to deliver the Stand Tall strength based programs to develop life and leadership skills, using basketball as a means of engagement and providing an impacting experience that inspires participants to set goals and be motivated about their own future. The programs include both on and off court activities including basketball skills & drills. The program was great fit with the Clean Slate Without Prejudice program, which is a Routine & Boxing program for kids in Redfern, launched by the Redfern local Aboriginal community in partnership with the Police.
Aimed at empowering young people through the promotion of healthy lifestyle, positive education and employment pathways, the Stand Tall program included Cal Bruton conducting a basketball clinic, sharing pro basketball tips as well as personal life experiences. A big thanks to Tribal Warrior for having us on the day and all the champions who worked hard for both the boxing and basketball sessions.

Cal bringing everyone in at the Stand Tall program. We always love to see some great teamwork and a focus on collaboration.
