The Stand Tall program will be delivered downtown at The Rocks on Friday night with young women from across Sydney, including participants from the recent Inaugural Stand Tall All Stars female team (pictured above). Jennifer Azzi will be sharing her experiences both on and off the court to inspire positive change for the young women that will be participating. With a focus on Indigenous and Culturally Diverse groups, including newly arrived refugees, the Stand Tall initiative aims to deliver strength based programs to develop life and leadership skills, using basketball as a means of engagement and providing an impacting experience that inspires participants on and off the court to set goals and be motivated about their own future.
Joining the NBA Global directors will be some amazing coaches with their own list of achievements including Sydney Kings player Tom Garlepp, former WNBL player Renae Camino, former NAIA All American Alex Porter-Moore, former NBL player Eban Hyams, and Accelerate Basketball’s Head Technical Coach Dwight Escobar.
We are looking forward to empowering the young women to succeed both on and off the court through the program.
Charity Bounce is a not for profit organisation that exists to inspire positive change to overcome disadvantage for individuals and communities. With a focus on Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanders and Culturally Diverse communities, including newly arrived refugees we aim to move people toward a more positive future through the development of sports, the arts, health, education and employment focused social programs. The programs are delivered in partnership with professional athletes to motivate change and inspire.
