EMILY WALKERDEN – BROOKLYN NETS
Emily Walkerden, Senior Director of Brand Marketing and Strategy at the NBA team the Brooklyn Nets, has joined the board of Charity Bounce.
Emily previously led the go-to-market partnership strategy and brand positioning of the NBA and WNBA for five years, as well as customised multiyear, sports marketing programs for Fortune 500 brands but has now set her sights on developing Charity Bounce’s exciting brand strategy and corporate partners program.
“Sport gives people hope and aspiration to be better. I love that Charity Bounce delivers this for the people who deserve it most. I’m going to bring my corporate partnerships and brand strategy experience to the board and help Charity Bounce create opportunities and secure partnerships that grow the impact of the work,” said Ms Walkerden.
With her recent appointment in New York, Emily will play a key role in supporting Charity Bounce’s expansion into the United States focusing on programs for at-risk youth in Los Angeles and New York.
Ian Heininger, CEO Charity Bounce, said “I’m looking forward to working with Emily to improve our partnership positioning here in Australia and on our United States expansion plans using basketball to help at-risk young people.
“We love working alongside passionate people who believe they can change the world for those who need it most. Emily is one of those people who will make a huge difference for the young people we work with. I am excited at what’s possible together,” concluded Mr Heininger.
About Charity Bounce
Charity Bounce is a not for profit organisation that exists to build resiliency and positive job futures for young people at -risk (12-24), using innovation through basketball to create ‘out of reach’ opportunities that inspire and motivate change. With a focus on Indigenous and culturally diverse communities, including newly arrived refugees, we aim to move young people toward a more positive future through the development of sports, education and employment focused social programs.
