TIPS AND TRICKS FOR WASHINGTON HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS FROM TAIWAN

There was plenty of time for a few tricks on the basketball court with students from Washington High School in Taiwan during a cultural exchange visit with former Harlem Globetrotter Tracy Williams. Tracy provided some insight into his life and times as a Globetrotter showing off a few tricks along the way.

The students from Taiwan were part of a cultural exchange program at Matraville Sports High School, where some of the Matraville basketball program students got involved in a display of their own, showing off some skills and talents as part of the Stand Tall resiliency basketball session where the visiting students learned some basketball basics as well as supporting and promoting the importance of diversity, believing in yourself, and being ready to try new things.

The Stand Tall initiative is a basketball resiliency program for young people, with a focus on Indigenous and Culturally Diverse groups. The initiative aims to deliver a Stand Tall strength based program to develop life and leadership skills, using basketball as a means of engagement and providing an impacting experience that inspires participants to set goals and be motivated about their own future. The programs include both on and off court activities including basketball skills & drills.

Thanks to all the Matraville players and our Global Ambassador for a fun and inspiring experience for the young men and women from Washington High School.
