Stand Tall with Cal in Canberra
As Charity Bounce continues to grow, our coaches are often running multiple Stand Tall Programs across Australia! Stand Tall Program Director and NBL Hall of Famer, Cal Bruton, has been busy with an awesome group of multi-cultural young people at St. Francis Xavier College in Canberra. Cal is currently delivering a Stand Tall 3 on 3 Challenge Series every Wednesday for the duration of the school term.
The Stand Tall program aims to develop life and leadership skills, using basketball as a means of engagement and providing an impacting experience that inspires participants to set goals and be motivated about their own future. One key impact of this program is the mentorship developed as Cal works with the students from week to week. At the beginning of each session the students warmup, stretch, do fundamentals and have a chat about what’s important that’s happening in their world.
Students play on different teams throughout the program and at the end of the term, the top three winners receive leather basketballs at the schools expense. Cal will also be providing scholarship opportunities for selected students to attend the Bruton Fundamentals Basketball Clinic over school holidays.

The Charity Bounce Team, Cal, Bret, Josh and Josh, spent the day in Canberra running a Stand Tall program with students at St Fancis Xavier College.

Every Wednesday the 3 on 3 tournament is in action.
