STANDING TALL WITH TRIBAL WARRIOR

Former Harlem Globetrotter Tracy Williams shared his keys to success both on and off the court with young people from the Tribal Warriors program in Redfern. After a 6am start with the regular boxing program the youth hit the court for the Stand Tall basketball program.

The Stand Tall initiative consists of basketball and leadership programs for young people, with a focus on Indigenous and Culturally Diverse groups, including newly arrived refugees. The initiative aims to deliver the Stand Tall strength based programs to develop life and leadership skills, using basketball as a means of engagement and providing an impacting experience that inspires participants to set goals and be motivated about their own future. The programs include both on and off court activities including basketball skills & drills.

The program was great fit with the Tribal Warrior program, which has a long and proud history of working with disadvantaged indigenous and non-indigenous youth, providing mentoring and training leading to self-esteem, empowerment and employment.

Aimed at empowering young people, the Stand Tall program included the Charity Bounce Global Ambassador Tracy Williams delivering a basketball clinic and sharing his keys to success on and off the court.

A big thanks to Tribal Warrior for having today and all the champions who worked hard for both the boxing and basketball sessions.
